i can’t wait to share the amazing summer dinner recipe pictured above with you! but first, i have to share photos from a cooking class we attended on thursday night. the class was taught by joseph schultz (many of you from santa cruz might know him better as india joze). joseph danced around the kitchen and created an amazing 11 dishes during the three hour chickpea festival class:
we’re back home after a whirlwind trip up to washington and back. between driving endless hours, visiting a different city every day, spending loads of time with our family, and thinking about the future, i didn’t take many pictures of all the delicious food we ate. what a bad food blogger, huh? will a photo of mt shasta satiate you instead? i hope so, because it’s the prettiest picture on this post!
ok, so let’s get down to business. i bet you’re wondering what the heck muhammara is, right? well, it’s a delicious bell pepper, walnut, and molasses dip. it’s spicy and sweet and incredibly satisfying. what it’s not is lovely to photograph. the photos all turned out sort of blah. but the dip is so amazing that i couldn’t refrain from sharing the recipe with you.
i hope you all had a wonderful holiday! we spent ours with our lovely families, consuming lots of good food!!
why is stuffing relegated to thanksgiving? i absolutely love stuffing – delicious bread coated in sage, celery, and (in this case at least), lots of other yummy ingredients – but i usually only make it on the fourth thursday in november.
i know pumpkin recipes are ubiquitous this time of year, but i just have to share this pumpkin bread recipe with you. it’s everything i want in a breakfast bread – moist, full of delicious spices, not too sweet, and replete with pecans and raisins to add some texture. when i realized that my weekend would be full of fun with my family – my sister flew in from michigan, my dad and b drove into town to spend some time with us on saturday, and we celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday on sunday – i decided i had to whip some of this up to munch on throughout the activities.
