a few weeks ago, i shared a soup that featured parsnips. before making the soup, i had never purchased (and maybe never even eaten?) parsnips. but ever since making that soup, i’ve been hooked on them. parsnips are kinda creamy, taste like slightly-earthier carrots, and are my new favorite winter veg.
nothing says summer to me like caprese salad. every year i look forward to the combination of summer-ripened tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar…mmmm….
well, folks, this has been a big week for us up here in seattle, complete with family, food, a live show, and school!
today is my very last day at the agency i’ve worked at since 2004. and mike’s last day at the company he’s worked at since 2003. and this is our last weekend in santa cruz.
i can’t wait to share the amazing summer dinner recipe pictured above with you! but first, i have to share photos from a cooking class we attended on thursday night. the class was taught by joseph schultz (many of you from santa cruz might know him better as india joze). joseph danced around the kitchen and created an amazing 11 dishes during the three hour chickpea festival class:
