although we’ve been cooking dinners regularly since we moved into the new place, i haven’t been baking much. most of my extra time has been spent working on projects around the house and garden, and not in the kitchen. it’s amazing how owning a home changes all of my priorities!

with the onset of the change to standard time, i learned two things: 1) it is impossible to make dinner after work in enough time to capture any real day light; and 2) stuffed squash does not photograph well. i realize that i have been blogging for five years, so i should know both of these things by now. but i honestly feel like i forget how quickly it gets dark every year.

we’re having a heat wave in seattle! which is awesome in almost every way…except for the whole trying-to-figure-out-what-to-make-for-dinner-without-turning-the-oven-on thing.
ok, so i know that st. patrick’s day has come and gone, but i still wanted to share this delicious irish soda bread recipe with you!
as much as i hate to admit this, it’s turning into fall around here. we’ve been having lovely, sunny days in the 70s…but there’s a cool breeze that wasn’t present last month. and the evenings are getting darker earlier. and the trees are changing colors and dropping their leaves.
